Telegram custom emoji are animated or static emoji — often designed to match a specific brand, channel, or community — that replace standard Unicode emoji when typing or reacting. They're built and organized into packs the same way sticker packs are, but inserted inline as if they were regular emoji rather than as separate sticker messages. Using custom emoji (sending them yourself) requires an active Telegram Premium subscription; anyone can see custom emoji sent by others regardless of their own subscription status. Channels sometimes use a matching custom emoji pack as part of their visual branding, similar to a custom logo or color scheme.
